    We are currently seeking a detail oriented quality document control professional to join our Quality team.  You will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and distributing the quality documentation of our organization, as well as periodically performing finished product inspections.  This individual will have a solid background in documentation control, excellent interpersonal skills, and technical writing skills, preferably in a manufacturing environment.  They must be able to support multiple projects between departments while ensuring that all of our documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and meets our high quality standards. They must be a part of our overall mission to deliver products and services that satisfy the requirements of our customers every time.  


    The Quality Document Control Specialist is responsible for the storage, organization, maintenance and control the company’s Quality documents and records, adhering to the company's document lifecycle procedures while ensuring their accuracy, quality and integrity. May also perform or assist with product quality audits. 

    • Approximately 30-50% travel to FCE’s Danbury, CT office (with company mileage re-imbursement)
    • Prepares and processes Quality Management System documents;
    • Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness in terms of presentation, such as format, etc.
    • Coordinates the ISO 9001 Internal Audit Activities, including: 1.Development of the annual audit schedule; 2.Review and release the Internal Audit Report; 3.Participating in annual Internal Audit.
    • Monitors the retrieval and distribution of the manufacturing controlled documents to manufacturing facilities and ensures the documents are current at all times;
    • Uploads and organizes all Supplier Quality Control documents for Balance of Plant (BOP), Module, and Power Plant;
    • Uploads and organizes the company’s manufacturing documents such as Work Instructions, Operation Control Plans, and other documents or records;
    • Uploads and organizes EH&S Documents;
    • May assist with training employees on records management procedures and policies, which include documentation, retention, retrieval, destruction and disaster recovery.
    • Performs product quality control/inspection activities such as visual inspection of materials and finished products occasionally at various locations;
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    Education/ExperienceAn Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in document control, quality control, or related experience is required; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience will be considered.  Candidates with 10 or more years of document control or applicable quality experience in a manufacturing setting may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.


    Skills and Abilities: 

    • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
    • Demonstrated strong technical writing and communication skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical processes through written and verbal formats to a diverse audience in terms of technical proficiency
    • Strong organization skills
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
    • Master Control document vault system experience is a “plus”   
    • Ability to read and interpret blue prints is a plus                                    


    •  Experience with ISO9001 or similar Quality system, specifically audit experience is preferred
    • Ability to obtain or already in possession of a valid U.S. Driver’s License

     Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

    • Primarily an office environment
    • Able to move effectively and timely in and around 170,000+ square foot cement floored manufacturing facility
    • Be able and willing to wear required personal protective equipment as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required
    • Able to move effectively and timely between external office buildings
    • Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
    • Ability to travel between company locations regularly
    • Ability to travel to offsite warehousing or manufacturing locations as needed
    • Possess the ability to work at elevated heights using a ladder and appropriate equipment
    • Ability to distinguish colors
