    Responsibilities

    We are currently seeking a creative and talented engineering technician to join the Test & Validation team.  The successful candidate will play an integral role in the design, development, testing and validation of new systems essential to the commercial success of state of the art fuel cell products. 

    • Supports product development and engineering activities through the design, fabrication, assembly, and test, of fuel cell power plants and components. Applications include mechanical systems, high-temperature piping, electrical circuits, instrumentation & controls, and control logic development.
    • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to construct systems and perform testing. Functions include construction and operations of test systems per engineering design. 
    • Primarily responsible for maintenance and repair of all supporting subsystems and test facilities. Additional responsibilities include test plan development, equipment design, build, checkout, trouble-shooting, operations, data collection, and reporting.  
    • Uses manufacturing, test, analytical and diagnostic equipment. Works on new, innovative technology where creativity is valued.
    • Other Task as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:    High School or GED is required.  Associate’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline or trade school degree is preferred.

     

    Experience:   Minimum 3 years of technical experience involving some or all of the following:  mechanical systems, test systems or electric circuits.  Direct FCE manufacturing experience will be considered.

     

    Candidate Must Have / Be:

    • Knowledge of electro-mechanical and fluid systems such as HVAC, plumbing, automotive maintenance and repair or mechanical service.
    • Proficient with hand and power tools.
    • Able to read process and instrument diagrams such as P&ID’s and electrical schematics.
    • Able to run wiring for controls and motors.
    • Must be available for occasional 24/7 duty as on-call operator of test systems and fuel cell power plants (2-3 times per year).
    • Able to assemble fittings, piping and wiring.
    • Adept at data manipulations and graphing using MS Excel

    Environment:

    • Working and standing up for extended times, remaining on feet and moving from area to area within a shop for a period of eight (8) hours with standard breaks.
    • Bending reaching, and carrying items.
    • Able to climb ladders.
    • Physical dexterity sufficient to perform the essential job functions described above on a continual basis.
    • General desk environment: will have a desk area and computer, and must be able to utilize a keyboard.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks with full range of motion with both hands/arms. Motions include circular, up and down, back and forth, side to side and overhead.
    • Occasional domestic travel (1-2 times per year).
