The Benefits and HRIS Administrator will be a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for administration and coordination of our benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, retirement and paid time off). In addition, you will maintain our HR database (PeopleTrak) and Performance Management system (Halogen), including data/content management, and reporting across the company. We are looking for a HR professional who is comfortable interacting with employees and responding to routine inquiries regarding benefits, policies, programs and events.


  • Responsible for end-to-end administration of our benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement benefits;
  • Supports the corporate benefit strategy and communicates benefit plans effectively;
  • Manages and conducts new hire onboarding; processes all paperwork for payroll and benefits for active and terminated employees (including Cobra administration);
  • Accurately maintains employee health and welfare benefits across employee records, payroll, and vendor systems. Conducts periodic audits and reconciles monthly billing;
  • Manages and update systems with new benefit offerings each year;
  • Responds to a variety of employee issues and inquiries relating to benefits, policies, programs and events; provides ongoing support and counseling to supervisors and employees, at the Danbury headquarters and auxiliary sites, as required;
  • Prepares annual EEO-1, VETS filings; assembles AAP data package; reviews 5500 filings; and performs other compliance tasks, including but not limited to mandatory reporting, annual and ad hoc audits;
  • Oversees processing of ACA forms related to health insurance coverage;
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date personnel records for U.S. and foreign employees;
  • Creates and maintains organizational charts on a monthly basis;
  • Maintains and organizes content on the Human Resources intranet site;
  • Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the HRIS and performance management systems; develops and modifies these systems and related processes as business requirements change; supports system upgrades, testing and implementation;
  • Creates customized, scheduled and ad hoc reports; creates statistical summaries and reports containing metrics and human resources data. Must be adept at manipulating data in Excel, including use of pivot tables.
  • Supports all company policies/procedures, providing counseling and clarification or guidance when required.
  • Actively participates in the planning, coordination of special events, including open enrollment meetings, annual service awards, etc.
  • Communicates effectively with a high degree of professionalism and self-confidence, both verbally and in writing to all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Education:  BS/BA Human Resources, Business Administration or related area.   Certificate in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) preferred.


Experience:  A minimum of 5 years of experience as a HR generalist with an emphasis on Benefits and HRIS systems.


Skills Required:


  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Detail oriented and organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills and experience using MS Office suite, HR database and related software (i.e., onboarding, performance management, learning management, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of employee benefits a must
  • Must have current knowledge of state and federal labor laws and best practices
  • Experience working a manufacturing or technology company is a “plus”



Work Environment

  • General work is in an office environment utilizing a computer and other office equipment
  • Able to commute between CT offices to attend meetings as required
