    We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Machine Repair Technician to join our fast paced, high tech team at our Torrington CT fuel cell manufacturing facility.  This second shift position will report directly to the Facilities Supervisor and will play a key role in our daily operational readiness as well as our continued operational efficiency and capacity evolution.


    Summary:    Manufacturing Machine Repair Technician  is responsible for performing routine and non- routine repairs and maintenance to manufacturing equipment in support of 24/5 manufacturing operation.

    • Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment and physical plant primarily in Torrington facility, including but not limited to equipment breakdowns, regular preventive maintenance of manufacturing machinery and the physical plant, equipment calibrations and other needs of manufacturing.
    • Conducts regular inspections and documentation of plant systems to ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management System policies and procedures.
    • Participates in the installation and startup of new manufacturing equipment.
    • Performs both interior and exterior maintenance duties including floor and facility cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping as required.
    • Ordering and stocking of spare parts inventory.
    • Performs other duties as required.



    Education HS Diploma or Equivalent required. Trade School preferred.


    Experience:  Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.


    Skills and Experience:

    • Experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment such as multi axis machines, heat-treating furnaces, conveyor lines, hydraulic presses, lifts, shears, and brakes required.
    • Experience with machine shop tools and equipment, welding, plumbing, pneumatics and hydraulics preferred.
    • Basic Carpentry, Plumbing, and Machine Tool Troubleshooting of Electrical Controls (PLC functionality) and Circuits desired.
    • Must be able to effectively read, write and speak in English to ensure team communication and to be able to follow written procedures.
    • Must be willing to work as part of an integrated team and cross functionally with other departments.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel locally for company business.
    • Must be willing to work over normal schedule during emergency/breakdown incidents
    • Must be will to participate in 24/7 emergency repair and on-call support rotation on other shifts/weekends days/holidays.


    • Physically perform work including lifting and carry a minimum of 25 lbs. routinely and up to 100 lbs. on a non-routine basis with assisted lifting devices
    • Work and physically move throughout a 170,000 sq. foot plant and on the outside grounds to perform various tasks in normal seasonal Connecticut temperatures and conditions.
    • Possess the ability to work at elevated heights in appropriate equipment and operate a forklift and man-lift.
    • Work in, around, and under manufacturing equipment, working with both arms and hands simultaneously, pushing, pulling, grasping, etc.
    • Work in confined space.
    • Be able and willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats and other PPE as required
    • Be able to qualify for and wear respiratory protection on a non-routine basis.
    • Must be able to troubleshoot company equipment using visual and audible skills to accurately diagnose problems and ensure equipment is in working order.
