Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Recruiter in manufacturing with the ambition and ability to achieve excellent results and support growth in a high tech industry. Based in our recently expanded, climate controlled Torrington manufacturing plant, this position focuses primarily on hiring hourly shop floor workers. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will be responsible for sourcing, identifying, attracting, and hiring the labor needed to support production.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, attracting, and recruiting hourly workers for manufacturing shop floor positions.
  • Assisting with sourcing strategy, candidate development and execution of full life cycle recruitment.
  • Reviewing applications/resumes, dispositioning candidates, conducting interviews, supporting job fairs, participating in candidate selection process, extending offers, preparing paperwork for onboarding.
  • Assisting with scheduling, organization and management of company sponsored hiring events.
  • Implementing recruitment strategies that align with and meet key business priorities and talent strategy. Recommending recruitment strategies and best practices based on expertise, knowledge and/or experience.
  • Actively managing candidate experience, helping to reinforce the Company’s reputation as a great place to work.
  • Ensuring all requisition/candidate activity data is captured in the applicant tracking system.
  • Leading offer preparation and negotiations with candidates.
  • Identifying opportunities and working to improve the quality and efficiency of the recruitment process. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:   B.S. degree preferred.  Equivalent experience and H.S. Diploma may be considered.

 

Experience:   Minimum of 5 years’ experience with manufacturing or hourly workforce recruiting.

 

The candidate will have / be:

  • Must have a good grasp of applicable state and federal laws, including requirements for federal contractors.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Experience utilizing multiple candidate development tools, e.g. social media, networking, referrals.
  • Strong drive for results and independent initiative; must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, professional, collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Experienced with automated applicant tracking systems.  iCIMS experience a plus.
  • Recruiting in a corporate environment a plus.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment utilizing a computer and other office equipment;
  • Able to move effectively and timely between external office buildings and in and around 70,000+ square foot cement floored manufacturing facility;
  • Be able and willing to wear required personal protective equipment, as designated, such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required;
  • Able to travel between CT sites (Torrington and Danbury) to attend meetings as required.
