The Operations and Maintenance Technician plays a key role in helping to ensure our power plants perform in accordance with our specifications and are ready for shipment to the customer. This is a multifaceted position that is both rewarding and challenging as you will be operating and maintaining a variety of equipment and performing final testing prior to release and start-up of the fuel cell power plant.


  • Performs integration of Fuel Cell Modules including but not limited to conditioning the new fuel cell, monitoring the startup operation and preparing the module for shipment to the customer
  • Performs all required checks to release the fuel cell unit to our global monitoring center for remote monitoring operations
  • Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
  • Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams
  • Tests and troubleshoots assemblies including final systems
  • May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing
  • Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems
  • Assists in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment
  • Operates mobile equipment including forklifts, Boat Crane and other mechanical assisted lifting devices
  • Maintains physical outdoor work site
  • Places orders for parts and materials used in the operations
  • Inputs data into ERP and Work management software
  • Assists in writing procedures and other technical documents
  • Performs predictive and emergent maintenance activities
  • Other duties as required







Education:  Minimum High School or equivalent.  Relevant technical A.S. Degree or equivalent training (Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls) preferred.


Experience:  Minimum of 4 years power plant operations and maintenance or equivalent industry experience.  Some experience in rigging, mobile equipment, and insulation desired.




  • Trouble shooting of instrument, electrical, mechanical issues.
  • Strong technical knowledge in the ability to perform maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and operation of conditioning facility and site equipment.
  • Proven ability to be self-directed as well as be a team player, can work independently, and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment including a computer.


Physical Requirements and Work Place Conditions:


Due to expansion, this position will be transferring from Danbury, CT to our Torrington, CT facility in the future. 


  • Must be willing to be on call for 24/7 support on a rotating basis when a Conditioning unit is under operations.
  • Must be willing to work first or second shift, as assigned
  • Must be able to work out of both Danbury and Torrington locations on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights, walk and stand.
  • Must be willing to work out doors in various CT weather conditions
  • Must be able to distinguish colors
